CHAPTER One

On the 23rd floor of the Manhattan Parkview apartment, Korean actor Joo Ji Hoon was reading a Korean entertainment magazine featuring his Goong co-star Yoon Eun Hye. Looking at the pictures, he suddenly felt something inside his stomach. He thought to himself, she’s looked more beautiful in these pictures; and she’s thinner now. He wondered if the stories about her being sick were true.

He looked around and saw his bestfriend Carl watching TV…

"Hey Carl, do you think she still thinks about me?" looking at him.

"Dude! Stop it will you!"throwing a pillow at JiHoon…"you have been asking me that since you came back from Seoul. Think about it dude, if she does think about you… she would have sent you an sms or email or anything to let you know she’s still alive…" giving a annoying look at JiHoon.

"Aish!!! I know, but you know… I really miss her…" trying to watch the show on TV

"Aight man!!! whatever you say… you should have seen the way you look at her during the awards night…" trying not to laugh at his bestfriend…

"What? Common!!! Eun Hye and I are friends, can’t friends miss each other?" giving Carl a hard look…

"Dude! we are friends, and you guys are not!!! There’s more than meet the eye" giving JiHoon a smile before eating his pizza…

JiHoon wondered the entire night if he did the right thing by leaving Seoul, right after filming Goong after he told Eun Hye that he was starting to have some feelings toward her. And that he does not know whether, she would accept him or not.

(Flashback: Episode 23 filming of Goong)

Looking intently at Eun Hye while she was reading her script, he looked around and saw that only few people were there in the set… a few staff and PDC also taking their much needed 40 minute break.

"Eun Hye, you should stop reading that and take some rest, common, our break will be over in a few minutes" trying to grab the piece of paper from her…

"Yah!!! You can say that! you’re practically a one take-actor!" giving JiHoon a smile, then continued reading the script.

"Common, you know you look pretty when you’re asleep" smiling back at her and pinching her cheeks…

"Yah! Stop it!!! (rubbing her face)…I mean with the pinching, but you can still call me pretty" looking at JiHoon and giving him another cute smile.

As if one cue, JiHoon instantly grabs her right hand…

"Eun Hye, do you think… ummmm…. can I still see you after filming?"  he looked straight in Eun Hye’s eyes and with a faint smile

"Of course" she answered back… "we can always hang out after this, I mean were friends right!" squeezing his hands

"Oh, what I meant was… can I ask you out for dinner?" still holding her hand, looking at her expression changed into a puzzled look…

Eun Hye instantly pulled out her hand…

"What?" she asked while trying not to look into his eyes…

"This is me asking you out on a date?" he said, still giving Eun Hye a smile…"Do you think you can say yes to it?"

"I’m sorry, I don’t think I can… you see I’m… (she was about to say that she’s going on a trip with her bestfriend right after filming, when JiHoon spoke immediately)

"Oh you mean, you are still waiting for him…" he said on a sad tone, (him = KJK, the guy she met when she was still in the sitcom Xman)

"Ummm… I mean" she was babbling, trying to get JiHoon to listen… but he never let her finished.

He stood up, walked slowly back to the set, but he stopped for a while and turned back to Eun Hye…

"I wanted to ask you first, since I’ve grown to like you a lot for the past couple of months we’ve been together filming… having fun… and I really like you…

Actually, I wanted know what you’d say to me, now that I know your answer. I think there’s really no need for me to stay around Seoul for the rest of the year. I wanted to spend more time with you before I go back to England, but under the circumstances. It’s best that I leave. Thank you for clearing everything up." he placed his hands on his pocket and started walking away again…

"JiHoon" as she said his name, he was already gone.

Filming were about to start, and it is considered to be the highlight of the drama, when they finally revealed their true feelings to each other. JiHoon is a bit uncomfortable with it, but this is work, and he was telling himself that it was not his first time to be rejected by a girl.

But, he really does like her. Actually, like her enough to ask her so boldly about seeing her often.

"Okay guys, places…we will start filming in 5 minutes" one of the staff shouted

Eun Hye wanted to show JiHoon how much she wanted to say yes, but she already promised her best friend that she will go with her to Australia. All she can think of is to kiss him with such passion so that he’ll know she didn’t mean that she’s waiting for KJK.

Eun Hye was in deep thought before filming started that she did not even heard the staff shouting for her name…

"If I kiss him passionately or romantically, not just the regular kissing scenes you see on TV, would he ever notice that I do feel the same way? Aish!!! I can’t believe I led him to believe I’m waiting for him…" she got up from her chair with a big sigh…

When their scenes were about to take shoot, Eun Hye tried to have a conversation with JiHoon but it was clear to her that he was avoiding any further contact.

When the kissing scene happened, Eun Hye kissed him as if she was trying to tell JiHoon something, and they both got carried away with the scene that they didn’t even heard the director saying CUT!!!

When the director called it the night, Ji Hoon did not bother to go back to the trailer, with the thought that he might see Eun Hye and both of them will be feeling awkward with what had just happened.

As she walked towards JiHoon’s trailer, she was muttering to herself
"Gosh!!! I kissed him!!! and he kissed me back!!!… and he’s such a good kisser too…

Darn… he’s soooo handsome, he’s very tall too…and he’s a good kisser!!! and he LIKES ME!!! he actually said HE LIKES ME"

She didn’t realized that she was already infront of JiHoon’s trailer since I was pitch-dark…

"Why is it dark in his trailer? Is he sleeping?" she asked herself.

"JiHoon…" calling after him…

"Miss Yoon" one of the staff called after her…and she looked at where the voice was coming from and she waved at her…

"Oh it’s you! Won Kim, have you seen Jihoon" she asked and smiled at her

"He left ma’am…he’s not there anymore" as she said those words, Eun Hye’s heart sank… this is the first time since they started filming that JiHoon left without telling her…

(Mobile phone rings….)

"Hello?" JiHoon speaks while looking at the pictures he took of Eun Hye in his digital camera

"It’s me, you left so soon, I didn’t realized…and I wanted to talk to you about what happened this afternoon" she was fidgeting while waiting for his response…

"Oh Eun Hye, it’s you… I wasn’t feeling too well, so I went straight home… and about this afternoon…don’t worry about it." he spoke with eyes closed

"I see, well… I hope nothing will change while we’re still filming. I mean, we still have that trip to Macau right?" Eun Hye patiently waits for his response…

"Yes…Ummm…right….thanks for calling" he knew if he would continue this conversation, he might break down…

"Oh alright!" sounded really surprised…"see you one Monday" Eun Hye said

"Yeah…see you…" JiHoon replied before cutting short their conversation…

When the line went dead, Eun Hye couldn’t stop the tears to fall now… "He will never be the same JiHoon… if only had I corrected him, when he thought I was waiting for someone else." as she thought about this, she took out a picture she keeps on her diary… the picture she took of JiHoon when he was sleeping inside her trailer and looked at it and continued to speak…

"I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to say no. But honestly, I got scared. What if you soon realize that I’m totally different from my character, that I am boring, absolutely no fun at all, and that I’m not that pretty as your model girlfriends… and I really don’t know how I will react when he comes back, I really don’t know JiHoon… I’m so sorry…"

Back in his apartment, JiHoon stared at Eun Hye’s picture before crumpling it and throwing it off…
